In Matthew 7:12 Jesus tells the crowd, "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."
This theme of loving and helping others is found throughout the New Testament, and applies to both spritual needs and physical needs! Methodism's founding father, John Wesley, put it this way:
"As time permits, Methodists do good to all, their neighbors and strangers, their firends and enemies. This includes every kind of good. Naturally Methodists provide food for the hungry and clothing to the naked. They visit people who are sick and in prison. But even more important than this, Methodists labor to do good to the souls of people."
Our church provides help both directly and through financial and volunteer support of community-minded, service oriented organizations.
